Commencing with Commencement

To start off this brand new blog, here's just a bit about Brandeis Commencement 2007. Although Steph's PhD was administratively conferred in February (making her a doctor -- although not the useful kind, as our friend Amy Archibald likes to say), she participated in Commencement today anyway. We went to the ceremony for the School of Humanities, and Steph got to wear her hood for the very first time. It was neat, but a bit long, so we skipped the University-wide ceremony in favor of brunch at Sabur in Somerville. Here's a picture of Steph and her mom (Rhona) just before the ceremony began.
